The post-election wrap-up was too depressing so I went straight to the books section in the Nov 15 edition of The New Republic (one of my favorite magazines). They had a review of a new crop of Alexander the Great books, so I'm ordering some from Amazon:
- Alexander the Great: Hunt for a New Past, by Paul Cartledge. (His book on The Spartans was excellent.)
- Alexander: Destiny and Myth, by Claude Mosse
- Alexander the Conqueror: The Epic Story of the Warrior King, by Laura Foreman
